1. The issue of environmental humidity

Potential consequences when indoor humidity reaches 80%: The KUKA robot teach pendant can function normally with humidity maintained between 30% and 80%. However, once indoor humidity exceeds 80%, condensation may occur inside the teach pendant. The internal power transformer and other coils can become damp, leading to leakage currents or even disconnections. Additionally, high-voltage components in the teach pendant are prone to discharge phenomena. Internal components may rust or corrode, potentially causing short circuits in severe cases. Conversely, when indoor humidity drops to 30%, static interference may arise in the mechanical friction parts of the teach pendant, increasing the likelihood of damage to internal components and affecting its normal operation.

2. Avoid strong light exposure

Exposure to strong light can also shorten the lifespan of the KUKA robot teach pendant. Prolonged exposure to intense light can accelerate the aging of the fluorescent powder in the display tube, reducing its luminous efficiency. When placing the computer, we should avoid positioning the KUKA robot teach pendant in areas exposed to strong light.

3. Be careful to prevent dust

Due to the high voltage of 10kV-30kV inside the KUKA robot teach pendant, such high voltage easily attracts dust particles from the air. The threat of dust to computers is evident. Extensive maintenance experience shows that working in environments with high dust levels can cause printed circuit boards to accumulate dust. This dust buildup will affect the heat dissipation of electronic components, leading to temperature increases in circuit boards and other components, resulting in leakage and component failure. Dust may also absorb moisture, corroding the internal electronic circuits of the KUKA robot teach pendant and causing inexplicable issues. We should maintain a clean and sanitary environment around the robot in daily operations. Since dust can infiltrate every nook and cranny, we can purchase or create a dedicated dust cover for the KUKA robot teach pendant. After each use, promptly cover the teach pendant with the dust cover to minimize the impact of dust on its lifespan.
